JAIPUR: The state government will make concerted efforts to invite investments in ceramic and glass industry, along with ensuring availability of gas and other requisites.
Speaking at the valedictory session of CeraGlass 2010, state industries minister Rajendra Pareek said while Rajasthan is rich in minerals, the value-addition industry is lagging behind. "We are encouraging investors to come to Rajasthan," the minister said.
Principal secretary, industries and chairman, RIICO Sunil Arora assured that the state will make all efforts to ensure availability of gas to all ceramic and glass clusters in the state before the next edition of the CeraGlass in 2012.
Expressing satisfaction over the successful completion of the event and the ground it has covered, Pareek said such shows promote a healthy competitive spirit amongst industry players. He also emphasized on the importance of recognizing the contribution of the workforce which is behind the production of world-class products. This would facilitate bonding between workers and management, he added.
RIICO managing director Rajendra Bhanawat said 180 companies, including 16 international exhibitors displayed their products at the fair. Indian exhibitors from 13 states participated, and about 350 new products were launched or displayed for the first time at the show. Nearly 500 enquires from international buyers and over 7,500 enquires from domestic companies were generated at the fair.
