Ancient Glass Handicraft

Damascus, (SANA)- Arte Vetro, the name of the project of Syrian artist Huda Hajjar, is the Italian synonym for the Art of Glass, a traditional handicraft known in Damascus since 3000 years.

In her project, Hajjar succeeded in reviving this industry, which the Phoenicians spread across the world, through adding new production lines in the fields of hotel, restaurant and interior design, presents and artifacts design.

n an attempt to blend heritage in human development, the Syrian artist works on training young craftsmen to help them master this handicraft.

Hajjar's works include carvings, wedding presents, souvenirs, chandeliers, dishes, doors, accessories and jewelry.
