Published: Thursday, December 30, 2010 3:07 PM ESTCOVENTRY — The Museum of Connecticut Glass is looking to partner with a university engineering program to generate grants and programs for a new green energy glass-blowing furnace.
The glass museum is approaching schools throughout the region to participate in a cooperative effort to raise grant funding to develop and purchase a prototype green energy furnace, museum president Noel Tomas said.
“We’d like to have a green furnace,” Tomas said. “We don’t know of any real operational green furnaces that have been made.”
