Taipei 101 aims to be world's tallest green building

The company that manages Taipei 101, also known as the Taipei Financial Center, has filed an application with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for a platinum-degree certification, so it can be recognized as the world's highest green building, Hsu Chao-fa, a manager of the building, said.

Taipei 101 was officially ranked the world's highest building in 2004, and retained that ranking until the inauguration of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai last year, according to a Jan. 17 Architectural record report.
