NanaWall Systems launches the first folding glass wall system to meet the Passive House Standards of the Passive House Institute. The NanaWall glass walls with triple glazing and foam are energy efficient with a U-value of .17 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of .26. The operable glass walls provide extraordinary thermal performance and weather resistance and meet energy-efficiency standards across Canada and the Northern U.S.
NanaWall Systems, the industry leader in opening glass walls, announces its newest product for architects and builders: NanaWall WA67 with triple glazing and a foam layer to meet Passive House Standards.
The Passive House Institute, an independent consulting and research firm that performs research and development of high energy systems, says, "A Passive House is a comprehensive system. 'Passive' describes well this system's underlying receptivity and retention capacity. Working with natural resources, free solar energy is captured and applied efficiently, instead of relying predominantly on 'active' systems to bring a building to 'zero' energy. High performance triple-glazed windows, super-insulation, an airtight building shell, limitation of thermal bridging and balanced energy recovery ventilation make possible extraordinary reductions in energy use and carbon emission."
The NanaWall WA67 with argon filled Low E triple glazing has a NFRC certified U-value of .17 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of .26. It meets Energy Star requirements for all areas of the U.S. and Canada.
The NanaWall WA67 also provides high water and air resistance. For inswing and outswing models with a raised sill, independent testing indicates that there was no water leakage at 12 psf or 68 miles per hour. Air infiltration is also well below the allowable limit.
The WA67 provides flexible solutions to architectural openings from three to 39 feet. It is available with more than 50 stacking configurations.
The NanaWall WA67 with triple glazing is available in more than 200 aluminum finishes for the outside and different wood choices for the inside including FSC wood.
"NanaWall Systems is the first folding door company to meet Passive House Standards," said Ebrahim Nana, president of NanaWall Systems. "Along with our partner Solarlux, Germany, NanaWall Systems is committed to developing opening glass wall systems for large openings for our customers in the harshest climate conditions - whether a hurricane zone or the coldest spot in Alaska."
About NanaWall
For over 25 years, NanaWall Systems has provided operable glass wall systems for large architectural openings from three to 320 feet. The NanaWall is a custom-made operable glass panel system that opens wide to blur the line between indoors and outdoors. Easily opened, the panels stack or stow away out of sight, opening the room to the outside. When closed, the panels provide a weather-resistant barrier protecting against wind, rain, snow, and cold temperatures. NanaWalls are used in single-family homes, condominiums, multi-family buildings, restaurants, schools, hotels, stadiums, hospitals, and wineries or any location that benefits from a large opening glass wall.
Unrivaled in the industry, the NanaWall meets or exceeds industry standards for air infiltration, water penetration, structural performance, forced entry, and hurricane/extreme weather protection (the NanaWall SL73 aluminum folding system is Hurricane Certified by Miami/Dade County). Architects and design professionals rely on NanaWall's experience, choice of options, and superior engineering to fulfill their distinctive architectural designs. Homeowners appreciate the beautiful aesthetics, unsurpassed durability, and exceptional performance of owning a NanaWall.
NanaWall Systems is headquartered in Mill Valley, Calif. with showroom locations across North America. NanaWall is the exclusive North American partner of Solarlux Germany, the world leader in operable glass wall technology.
