LCD Shipments of China Surpasses Japan

China became the 3rd largest producer of LCD panels after Korea and Taiwan.

China has already become the world’s largest LCD TV market and am important LCD panel producing center. A lot of manufacturers are focusing on the Chinese market. Korea’s Samsung Electronics, LG Display, and Taiwan's AUO, etc. have plans to build LCD production plant.

According to Displaybank, large LCD panel shipments of Chinese manufacturers already surpassed Japanese manufacturers' shipments in Q1 2011. Chinese exceeded 9.9 million in Q1, but Japanese only had 7.6 million.

Also, BOE will produce China's first 8th-generation line in Q3 this year, CSOT’s 8th-generation lines are under production, too. If so, production capacity will increase from current level of 4% to 8% by the end of next year.
