AGC Presents its Solar Glass and Chemicals Solutions at EU PVSEC 2011

Post Time:Aug 25,2011Classify:Industry NewsView:420

AGC, Brussels, will present its glass and chemical products for solar applications at the 26th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, September 5-8 . This year, the focus will be on AGC’s new glass offer for glass/glass or lightweight PV panels, and also high-performance ETFE film for front and back sheets.

Keen to continue “Empowering Solar Efficiency,” AGC Solar will showcase Dragontrail, a brand new glass solution for lightweight PV modules. It is a strong and scratch-resistant chemically tempered glass that allows for thinner PV cover, typically 2 millimeters or less.

For photovoltaic crystalline, the company will show its Solite Plus extra-clear patterned cover glass with SPARC anti-reflective coating. This coating offers high solar transmission which allows an increase in the energy output of the PV panels by up to 5 percent, which is equivalent to gaining two extra weeks of sun each year, according to a release.

For photovoltaic thin film (silicon and CdTe), AGC will showcase its TCO (Transparent Conductive Oxide) coated glass line which has been designed to meet the wide range of customer requirements in terms of performance and dimensions.

For Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), visitors will see SunEwat, the crystalline Si modules for facade and roof applications. They are custom-built in terms of dimension, design and number of cells required to ensure their perfect integration into each architectural project.

Fluon ETFE FILM (Fluon ETFE foil) is a high-performance film made from AGC’s own ETFE resin. Due to its durability, transparency and light-transmitting properties, it is used in a wide range of applications, such as for back and front sheets in solar panels, mold release film for electronic components, and as a construction material in commercial greenhouses, stadiums and other building projects where architects require the specialized functionality and high performance that ETFE provides.
