Glass and related industry attendees voted Guardian “best in show” among large exhibitors at GlassBuild America September 12-14 in Atlanta, Georgia.

This was Guardian’s first time exhibiting at the event, now in its eighth year. GlassBuild America 2011 attracted nearly 6,300 participants and 400 exhibiting companies representing the glass, window and door industries in North America. It is organized by the National Glass Association, along with partner organizations — American Architectural Manufacturers Association, Glass Association of North America, Insulating Glass Manufactures Alliance and the Bath Enclosures Manufacturers Association.

The winning booth featured Guardian ClimaGuard, the company’s residential product family; Guardian InGlass, the interiors segment portfolio; and Guardian SunGuard, the global company’s brand for commercial glass business.

Guardian may have exceeded the expectations of the broad audience in the diversity of glass innovation and solutions on display. For example, it debuted its new residential product, ClimaGuard 62/27, which helps builders meet ENERGY STAR code in all U.S. climate zones.* With a third layer of silver, the coating provides higher light transmission than traditional double-silver products while reducing the amount solar heat gain and harmful UV rays, extending the life of woodwork, carpets and furnishings.

GlassBuild America was also the first public appearance for two SunGuard products: SunGuard IS 20, which lowers U-values of dual-glazed windows by up to 20 percent, and SunGuard SNR 43, which offers a high LSG ratio and low solar heat gain coefficient, adding another great option for architects specifying commercial glass and curtainwall.

The Guardian InGlass area featured the new Berman Glass editions, four textures created by renowned glass artist Joel Berman and exclusively manufactured by Guardian.

It was a busy show for the company, which also sponsored two well-received programs to GlassBuild America: the new National Glass Association Architects Forum and the sixth annual NGA Glazing Executives Forum.

“This honor is a great reward for our team’s efforts at GlassBuild America,” said Chris Dolan, Guardian director of commercial glass marketing. “This show was an opportunity for us to bring ClimaGuard, InGlass and SunGuard to the public in one place. All these products together are a powerful illustration of the advances occurring at our Science & Technology Center and our ongoing commitment to glass innovation.”

Guardian’s GlassBuild America booth was designed under the direction of interior designer Tom Condon, with design support, production and installation provided by Xibitz, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
