TCL Group: Huaxing Optronics Generation 8.5 LCD Panel Achieved Mass Production

[China Glass Network] Huaxing photonics generation 8.5 LCD panel has achieved mass production. By far, monthly production capacity of glass substrates is 20,000, and is planned to reach 100,000 at the bottom of next year.

According to data, Huaxing Optronics the total investment of 8.5 generation LCD panel project is 24.5 billion RMB, established by TCL Group and Shenchao Co. in 2009. The range of products covers 26 inches to 55 inches. Designed production capacity is 100,000 glass substrates per month. As company introduces, it takes the leading role to achieve mass production of 32 inches LCD module. Monthly production capacity of glass substrates is 20,000, and is planned to reach 100,000 at the bottom of next year.

In terms of marketing, as during the primary period, the relatively small production volume is not a big issue. LI Yaqing, a professional analyst, held the opinion that the domestic production capacity of panels is monthly 10,000—30,000 in the forth quarter, but the global demand for flat-panel color TV sets is 201 million, among which 3,380 is for domestic demand.

Along with the successful achievement of mass production, TCL Group has formed integrated advantage of LCD industry and will enhance the competition strength of company in LCD TV market.
