HSG to Continue to Process Glass Claims for Esurance in Light of Allstate Acquisition

The Allstate Insurance acquisition of Esurance closed recently, leaving some to wonder what might happen to auto glass claims at the San Francisco-based Esurance.

“We will continue to manage all of Esurance’s glass claims,” says Paul Gross, president and chief executive officer of HSG/Code Blue. “They are a great business partner and we have an exclusive contract with them.”

Esurance’s internal communications manager, Kate Rezucha, declined to comment.

“As the Allstate acquisition of Esurance just closed ten days ago, it would be premature to comment on any vendor or supplier relationships at this time,” she said.

Allstate purchased Esurance for approximately $1 billion, according to a company press release, and the sale closed on October 7. Allstate intends to maintain the current headquarters of Esurance in San Francisco.

HSG and Esurance launched a program together in September 2009 called “Save a Windshield, Plant a Tree,” through which HSG has pledged for several years to plant one tree for every Esurance auto glass claim that has resulted in a windshield repair instead of a replacement.
