NEG: trial is made to adopt ultra-thin glass curved touch panel

[China Glass Network] Japanese company NEG adopted ultra-thin glass to make 10.8-inch curved touch panel and exhibited it on the “CEATEC JAPAN 2011” held in Messe Exhibition Centre of Chiba-ken, Japan.

Previously, there were also the adopts of resin film touch panel applied in curved shapes. Nevertheless, recently, the thickness of glass material is increasingly thinning enables itself to realize rolling shapes for application into rolling panel producing. Compared with resin, glass has better fire resistance and moisture resistance as well as better touching surface.

The company adopted “OA-10G” to its glass materials. Inserting touch panel with electrostatic capacity into glass substrates with 50μm thickness fitted in curved glass shade with 100μm. Double-point touch and operation of narrowing and widening are allowed.
