Asahi Display Glass Project Located in Kunshan

(China Glass Network)Recently, flat glass manufacturer Asahi announced that its subsidiary Asahi Display Glass Co., Ltd formally opened as an important measure for LCD panel market.

Officer of Asahi Display Glass(Kunshan)Co., Ltd said that company will mainly operate glass substrate used in TFT-LCD Generation 8, do research and make development on the relevant accessory products, and it has been set up trial production from June 2011. After the completion of all production lines, Asahi will have 6 grinding cutting production lines in Kunshan. The production capacity of glass substrate can reach 6 million square meters monthly.

At present, Asahi TFT-LCD glass substrates occupies 30% of market share, ranking second in the world. It occupied high proportion of the supply for AU, CMO and other leading panel enterprises. At the same time, Asahi is also the leading raw materials supplier for InfoVision Optoelectronics, BOE, Tianma and other domestic panel enterprises.

The successful construction of Asahi Project made Kunshan Photoelectric Industry Park take the lead in realizing localization of raw material supply at home. It formed a complete industrial chain of ‘upstream material-panel- downstream machine". The determination of Asahi (Kunshan) Project has contributed to the follow up of Century Optoelectronics, Tokyo Electon etc. chain projects. Kunshan Photoelectric Industrial Park is about to usher a new investment boom. It is expected that Kunshan Photoelectric Industrial Park can realize more than 80% of panel material local mating rate in five years.
