André Brütsch will become the new head of the Bystronic Glass Group succeeding Richard Jakob as CEO, effective January 1, 2012. With the change Brütsch will also become a member of the Conzzeta AG Management Group, according to Bystronic.
In his role as a member of the business unit management with the Bystronic Group (Sheet Metal Processing Systems) Brütsch, a Swiss graduate engineer, has been working for the Conzzeta Group for the last seven years. Currently, he is the operative manager of the parent company Bystronic Laser AG in Niederönz, Switzerland, where he has managed the operations division of this business unit since 2008. He previously held positions within the Mechanical Engineering Division of Georg Fischer AG.
Jakob, who has managed the Bystronic Glass Group business since the beginning of 2007, will be retiring from the CEO position. He will, however, remain within the Bystronic glass group management and will concentrate on special projects and the management of the global sales and service subsidiaries.
An additional staff change within the Bystronic glass Group will also take effect January 1, 2012, as Dr. Frank Scholz will assume responsibility for the newly created position of chief marketing officer (CMO). In this capacity he will also become a member of the Bystronic Glass Group Management.
Scholz is a graduate computer scientist and doctor of engineering in mechanical engineering-production. He most recently served as a managing director at a consulting company in Shanghai.
