Mark Dannettel, vice president of Thornton Tomasetti, has been appointed leader of the firm's Building Skin practice for the Pacific Rim region, according to a Dec. 7 company release. Dannettel is based in Los Angeles, and also serves as practice leader for the West Coast. He has more than 20 years of experience in architecture, engineering, façade design and building technology in both Asia and the United States. His façade consulting work includes high-rise towers, civic and institutional structures, hospitals, airports, hotels and residential towers.
Thornton Tomasetti's multidisciplinary team of building skin specialists has decades of experience designing, engineering and constructing exteriors. The Building Skin practice assists in the design, engineering and execution of state-of-the-art, constructible, sustainable building skin solutions that address project design, function, budget, and scheduling goals. Services include detailed design, bidding and negotiation, value engineering, contractor's design review, manufacturing and testing monitoring, and site installation review, according to the release.
