Safelite Foundation Awards Four $25,000 Grants

The Safelite AutoGlass® Foundation has awarded $25,000 grants to four separate Columbus, Ohio, area non-profit groups: American Red Cross of Greater Columbus, Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus, Habitat for Humanity, and Mid-Ohio Foodbank, according to a release from the company.

American Red Cross of Greater Columbus will use the grant to purchase a vehicle to further the mission of its Community Transportation program, which offers critical-need transportation to those with disabilities or medical conditions for those who cannot drive themselves.

According to Safelite, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus plans to use the grant to upgrade its technology resources in its facilities to “better serve the needs of children who are living in a world that demands fluency with technology.”
Habitat for Humanity will use the grant toward building a home in central Ohio.

Mid-Ohio Foodbank intends to open an on-site food pantry with funding from the Impact grant, according to information provided by Safelite.

Applications for grants were reviewed by members of the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation, a volunteer committee, and selected based on the impact the grant would have on the local community. Twenty-five non-profits applied for the grants, named the “Impact Grants.”

“We give back because it’s simply the right thing to do. We believe in investing part of our profits into the betterment of mankind,” says president and CEO Tom Feeney. “We are looking forward to seeing the good work of our Impact Grant recipients and to building a long-term supportive partnership.”
