Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China Encouraged Merger and Reorganization of Key Photovoltaic Enterprises

(China Glass Network) Recently, “ Twelfth Five Years Plan of Solar PV Industry”(Hereinafter referred to as “Plan”) issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China clearly pointed to concentrate power to support preponderant enterprises, encourage resource integration and reorganization of key photovoltaic enterprises.

Majority of the domestic PV enterprises are private. And the leaky standard system on the chain hindered the development of PV market to some certain extent. An insider said: “Current domestic PV batteries and components market mainly is in Europe and the United States. High Dependence on foreign market goes against the sustained and healthy development of the industry.”

When accepting an interview with National Business Daily, the vice president of Tongwei Group HUANGQigang said: “ Current PV industry is in the key stage of winter. “Plan” issued to support competitive enterprises is good for the development of whole industry. As one of leading enterprises in Chinese PV industry, Tongwei’s subsidiary Yongxiang have properly and appropriately participated in some mergers and reorganizations. But Yongxiang also noted certain difficulties exist in the actual operation. For instance, the past investment may have no economic value now, especially whose original technology is far from the requirements of acquisition. These are the questions which we must consider beforehand.”

“Plan” will continue to encourage and support key enterprises to grow. By 2015, polysilicon leading enterprises reach level of 50000 tons, key enterprises reach level of more than ten thousand tons. Solar cells leading enterprises achieve 5 GW level, key enterprises achieve GW level. It will realize one photovoltaic enterprise whose sales income is more than 100 billion yuan, three to five photovoltaic enterprises whose sales income are more than 50 billion yuan, three to four photovoltaic enterprises whose sales income are more than 1 billion yuan.
