Guardian Industries to Manufacture PV Glass Units at Massachusetts Plant

Guardian Industries of Auburn Hills, Mich., has announced that it will begin manufacturing SunGuard photovoltaic glass units (PVGUs) for commercial buildings at its Webster, Mass., plant, as part of a project with Pythagoras Solar of San Mateo, Calif.

"This partnership combines Guardian's leadership in advanced architectural glass with Pythagoras Solar's innovative solar window technology to provide the building and construction industry with a unique solution to transform building facades into energy-generating assets and bring net-zero energy buildings closer to reality," says Barry Corden, senior director of product applications for Guardian Industries.

Corden says company officials plan to eventually expand production to other facilities as well.
