Mandatory used of Ultra-clear Glass in High-rise building will start form Next year

(China Glass Network) “Forum on Safety and Energy Saving of Building Glass Curtain Wall” hosted by CSG was held on April 18, 2012, experts appealed that the use of ultra-clear glass and homogeneous tempered glass is necessary.

Chief expert of China Architectural and Industrial Glass Association, Xu Wuyi said that the new “Management Regulation for Glass Curtain Wall Construction” will be published in June this year, which will put forward mandatory requirement of using ultra-clear glass and homogeneous tempered glass in high-rise buildings. “There will be a transitional period for half a year, and the mandatory use will be carried out from the early of 2013.”

China builds 70 million square meters of glass curtain walls each year, and there are 810 high-rise buildings pass 150m, 547 high-rise buildings higher than 200m, 49 high-rise buildings taller than 400m and 9 buildings with height more than 600m. China has become the 547 high-rise buildings higher than 200m with megahighrise building all over the world.

Self-destruction rate of common glass is about 0.3 percent to 0.8 percent, glass with homogeneous processing is 0.1 percent while ultra-clear glass of 0.01 percent, which can make the building more safe efficiently.
