Non-EU Countries Show Biggest PV Potential, Survey Finds

China Glass NetworkForty-one percent of respondents say countries outside of the European Union show the biggest potential for PV, accoring to a survey by CleanThinkingand Milk the Sun.

 

Study authors say this confirms the industry’s current movment to new markets in Africa and Southeast Asia.

 

The report attributes this to decreasing feed-in tariffs, new energy legislation and changing directives in 2012: 71% of participants indicate feeling insecure because of the current discussion around the Renewable Energy Law.

 

CleanThinking and Milk the Sun surveyed project developers, installation operators and owners, investors and others, and say the attitude toward the PV market is moderate to positive.

 

Fifty-seven percent of investors expect a return of 7-10% on current projects based on the deployed capital, and more than half of respondents say 50-70€/kWp is an appropriate price for fully developed project rights.
