Local technician recognized as 'World's Best Windshield Repairman'

Brian Fenner, 43, of Safe Glass Technologies in Easton, won the gold medal in the Walt Gorman Memorial Windshield Repair Competition, the 'Olympics; of the auto glass repair industry, on Sept. 21-22. Fenner was awarded $10,000 in cash, a gold medal, a large trophy and the title of the 'World's Best Windshield Repair Technician.'

Competing against 10 other repair technicians from around the world, Fenner was required to repair a crack on a vehicle's windshield while being judged on a 50-point scale for the in-depth process.

Fenner, the owner of the Safe Glass Technologies in Easton, was the 2009 gold medalist and 2008 silver medalist for this competition. Fenner was also recognized as Mobile Tech Expo's 2009 Windshield Repair Person of the Year.

The competition was co-sponsored by the Auto Glass Safety Council (formerly the AGRSS Council Inc.), Independent Glass Association (IGA), National Glass Association (NGA), the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA), and AGRR Magazine.
