Auto Glass Sales Increase 15.3 Percent for Vitro's Third Quarter

Third quarter automotive glass sales increased 15.3 percent, displaying growth in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) market by 13 percent and 3 percent growth in the AGR market, according a Vitro company release.

According to the report, "The automotive glass business unit has been experiencing very high utilization rates, which have restricted volume available for AGR sales. In the coming months we expect reduced utilization levels as we work with our US clients to phase out some programs which will allow us to focus on the AGR market and open capacity for the growing Mexican OEM market."

Third quarter flat glass sales rose 7.9 percent to $149 million compared to last year's 2011 third quarter results of $138 million.
