Loss of Flat Glass Industry is 520 Million RMB in the First Half Year

(China Glass Network) According to latest statistics announced by National Development and Reform Committee, net deficiency of flat glass industry is 520 Million RMB in the first half year of 2012, while net profit of the industry is 2590 Million RMB in the same period of last year.

With features of perennial continuous production, glass manufacturers can adjust the product structure, production and operation according to market price trend, to realize stability between capacity and market demand. More than 80% of the flat glass products are used in industries of real estate and automobile making, which also brings periodicity to flat glass market.

Data present that price index and market confidence index of Chinese glass market is in falling trend and most of the manufacturers hold negative attitude for the market price. Funds shortage of the industry and rising raw material price also increase the unsteadiness of the market. The contradiction of over supply urgently needs a tool of futures to hedge and guide healthy development of the industry.
