Saint- Gobain Built Facility in Wuhan

The French Saint-Gobain Group, 500 of the world, signed an agreement with the East Lake High-tech Zone to build an Auto Glass Base in Optical Valley yesterday.

According to the agreement, 60 million euros will be invested in the East Lake High-tech Zone by Saint-Gobain Group to build the project of Auto Glass Base, including windshields, rear windows and the glass windows. The first phase of the project will be put into production in this year. The yearly production capacity of automotive glass will be not less than 1.5 million units when the project fully put into operation.

It is known that Saint-Gobain Group, founded in 1665, mainly operates in five business as flat glass, glass packaging, construction products, building materials distribution and high-functional materials. At present, The Saint-Gobain Group is the partner suppliers of Peugeot Citroën and General Electric. In 2010, Saint-Gobain's turnover amounted to € 40.1 billion, ranked 132 in Fortune Global 500 and the top of world's Building Materials 100.
