Glass is Tomorrow

Born in June 2011, with the support of the European Union program called «Culture» (2007-2013), the project Glass is Tomorrow is becoming a European network that aims to establish a smoother exchange of knowledge and skills between glass and design professionals.

Glass is Tomorrow seeks to highlight and optimize the existing synergies between tandems composed of European glass makers and designers across 60 creations thought and designed to develop new types of everyday objects.

QUANTUM GLASS, hybrid glass specialist, is supporting the project that combines craftsmanship (glass makers) and contemporary vision of glass (designers). QUANTUM GLASS sees in this project the opportunity to open the new perspectives as well as a dialogue around design, production and distribution of glass creations.

Because of the optical characteristics of the glass, a homogeneous lighting of the exposed objects could be made. Thus, the design of the exhibition, signed Arik Levy and Saazs, highlights the 60 creations with a luminous glass panels «LEDinGLASS» on which is placed a diffusing glass from Saint-Just.

The inauguration of Glass is Tomorrow takes place in Paris at A Glass House during the ‘off’ part of Maison & Objet fair (from 17th to 22nd of January, 2013). The Parisian stage is the first one of the long line worldwide.

ZOOM ON LEDinGLASS

LEDInGLASS technology is a screen-printed optical glass edge-lit by LEDs. Diffused throughout the thickness of the glass, the light is reflected on both surfaces by a frame or screen-printed pattern that can be customized. Combined with low energy consumption, the LEDinGLASS technology is a durable material capable of creating infinite possibilities.
