AGC to Build a Mega-solar Power Station in Ako, Hyogo Prefecture

Post Time:Apr 25,2013Classify:Company NewsView:411

China Glass NetworkAGC (Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.; Head Office: Tokyo; President & CEO: Kazuhiko Ishimura) will build a large-capacity photovoltaic (PV) power generation system at its site in Ako, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. The new PV system will have a power-generating capacity of approximately 4.2 megawatts, and is scheduled to begin operation in March 2015.

The planned construction site is a former salt farm, and the AGC Group’s Plalloy™, a fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) material, will be used as the structural frame of the PV system to prevent salt corrosion. Plalloy is immune to rust and corrosion even in salty land, enabling long-term stable power generation in an area that has been affected by salt damage.
