ZonesCorp 's CEO visits factory and congratulates team on achievements
Abu Dhabi, 15 May 2013: Located in ZonesCorp 's ICAD 2, Emirates Float Glass ( EFG ), the first state-of-art integrated float glass facility in the UAE, has been recently honored for maintaining high health and environmental standards in its operations. In further recognition for EFG 's efforts, HE Mohammed Hasan Al Qemzi, CEO of the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones ( ZonesCorp ), visited the factory and congratulated its management and team for their outstanding achievements.
EFG was recognized by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) for successfully implementing the "Safety in Heat Programme". The programme adopted by EFG aimed to minimize occupational health, safety and environmental impacts and risks in the factory's operations, products and services. Moreover, EFG received the Environmental Performance Card (EPC) from the UAE Ministry of Environment & Water (MOEW) for its efforts to encourage greener production models and its application of safe environmental management systems.
EFG offers architectural and automotive industries glass processors with premium quality float glass products on regional and international levels. Established in 2009, EFG 's products are now exported to more than 53 countries spanning South America, Europe, Australia, Far East Asia and Africa, in addition to GCC countries.
Commenting on EFG 's recognitions, HE Al Qemzi said: " ZonesCorp considers all operations within our zones to be part of our family, and we congratulate Emirates Float Glass for their recognitions. We are pleased with EFG 's efforts in adopting the best standards in their operations. We continuously encourage all factories within ZonesCorp to implement the latest and safest procedures in the industrial field to ensure their safety, the safety of the community as well as the environment in which we all operate within.
