St. Anthony's Church Replaces Stained Glass Window

It's the 100th year anniversary for St. Anthony's Church in Watertown and Father Donald Robinson is excited.

"I'm happy that we're still here after 100 years," said Robinson, pastor of the church.

As a part of St. Anthony's June celebration, the church decided to replace its rose window, the balcony window facing Arsenal Street.

A century ago, the church was built with all stain glass windows, but the rose window was the only one without a special design.

"When they got to the rose window, maybe because of financial restraints, I'm not sure, the rose window that was installed didn't seem to match the other windows," said Robinson.

The exciting part isn't just getting a new window, but the design that's going to be on it.

"They've used the blue, the color blue and the color green, which matches the present windows," said Robinson.

Robinson says church members also chose the design because of the Holy Spirit symbol, a dove, which will be in the center of the window.

The window will be unveiled on June 30.
