Glass maker to locate in Washougal

A glass manufacturer will soon move into Building 5, in the Port of Camas-Washougal Industrial Park.

Port commissioners have approved a five-year lease with Mary Jane’s Glass Production, with a five-year extension option. The cost will be $3,380 per month, plus leasehold tax.

The glass production company is a new venture, created by Bobby Saberi, his brother David, and Brandon Brock. Customers will include nine locations of Mary Jane’s House of Glass.

Brock is chief executive officer of the retail glass company, which has a shop at 1825 “E” St., Washougal.

The glass manufacturer will start with five to 10 employees during the first 90 days, with the potential to create another 30 jobs during the initial lease period.

Bobby Saberi said during a phone interview Monday they hope to start manufacturing glass smoking accessories on Oct. 1.

“We intend to expand our functional glass production to more sectors including wine and beer [glasses] as well,” he said.

Building 5 is located at 477 S. 28th St., Washougal.

As the owner/operator of Societas Consulting, Bobby Saberi helps scout for locations for Mary Jane’s House of Glass and other entrepreneurs.

“I specialize in human resource consulting and new business development, which includes new location scouting,” he said.

Bobby graduated from Washougal High School in 1995, while David and Brandon were in the class of 2000.

“We all grew up on the same block and have known each other for a long time,” Bobby said. “Washougal is home.

“The port and the city were excellent to work with,” he added. “We were looking at four or five locations in Clark County. Based on the port’s ease to work with, we narrowed it down to Washougal rather than Vancouver.”
