Guardian Industries is co-sponsoring the National Glass Association’s Architect’s Forum: Glass + Performance, an opportunity for architects to see and experience the latest in glass design, technology and performance and earn CEU credits. The one-day Forum, Wednesday, Sept. 11, is part of the GlassBuild America 2013 Expo in Atlanta.

Presented in partnership with the NGA and Architect’s Newspaper, the Architect’s Forum brings together architects, designers and other professionals for an intensive one-day program on the design, fabrication and construction of high performance architectural and decorative glass. Headlining this year’s Forum is architect, artist and author Neil Denari, a leading figure in L.A.´s dynamic design scene.

We are proud to support the NGA and Architect’s Newspaper in bringing together these industry professionals for an educational program on glass aethestics, design and performance,” said Chris Dolan, Guardian’s ‎director of Commercial Glass Marketing. “This event supports Guardian’s continuing education programs to help architects and designers keep up with the latest in innovative products and technologies, as well as new codes and standards.”

Dolan will take part in the Materials Panel during the Forum. His presentation, “Glass Facades: Benefits of Increasing the Window-to Wall Ratio,” will address the challenge of marrying vision and creativity with more stringent energy codes and how glass is meeting that challenge. He will also share new University of Michigan research that demonstrates the positive impact glass and daylighting have on a building’s occupants.

Jay Phillips, Guardian’s national architectural sales director, and past president of the Glass Association for North America, will join façade consultant Philip Vourvoulis from Triview Glass Industries and Gordon Smith, LEED AP, AIA, with Heery International, on a panel: “Functional Appeal and Aesthetic Challenges of Glass Design for Today´s Building Facades.” These industry experts will look at and analyze existing projects and conceptual designs as well as technical performance data that demonstrate a multitude of glazing options available.

Other highlights include an exclusive look at the Herzog & de Meuron´s new Miami Art Museum, featuring Guardian SunGuard advanced architectural glass.

Attendees will earn five CEU credits for attending the Forum. Architect’s Forum $49 registration includes the workshops, demonstrations, lunch, and a closing networking reception, as well as three-day access to the GlassBuild America trade show floor.

GlassBuild America is the premier event for the glass, window and door industries in North America. Guardian will showcase its latest in advanced glass innovations in Booth 2123 at GlassBuild.
