Guardian Industries expanded manufacturing capabilities at its Richburg, S.C., plant with the addition of Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 and SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 heat treatable advanced architectural coated glass, according to an Oct. 15 Guardian release.

SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 and SN 68 heat treatable are low-emissivity products that offer solar heat gain performance while maintaining high levels of visible light transmittance, according to the release. In addition to standard stock sheets, the plant now offers oversize stock sheets for the heat treatable product, including 96 inches by 168 inches, 98 inches by 168 inches and 102 inches by 168 inches, available subject to coater lead times, according to the manufacturer. Oversize SunGuard SN 68 HT is available on 6 millimeter, 8 mm and 10 mm glass.

Guardian began its float glass operation in Richburg in 1988. In 2011, the company installed an advanced technology vacuum coater that allows the plant to produce energy-efficient SunGuard and ClimaGuard coated glass products for commercial and residential applications. The plant also produces Guardian’s textured glass patterns and the Berman Glass editions collection.
