Lathrop's 50-year-old Pilkington glass plant will cease production early next year, affecting about 115 workers, its corporate parent confirmed Tuesday.
In a news release, NSG Group officials cited the plant’s near-term need for repairs, as well as new pollution-control equipment to meet air-quality standards.
“Unfortunately, the required investment is not economically feasible in light of the current market conditions,” the statement said.
