New Glass Magazine Awards to include people component, industry-wide votingGlass Magazine has changed the name and scope of its popular Crystal Achievement Awards program to include a people component and an online industry-wide voting system. As of 2012, the prestigious glass and metal industry awards program—now in its seventh year—will be known as The Glass Magazine Awards: The People, Products and Projects.“While the Crystal Achievement Awards program recognized the best products and applications the industry has to offer, it was missing an important component: the people who make these products and projects possible,” says Jenni Chase, editorial director, Glass Magazine. “The Glass Magazine Awards will continue to spotlight exciting uses of glass and metal, but will also honor the individuals behind them.”The new people-centric categories will include: Best Project Manager, Best Production Supervisor, Best Sales Rep and Best Installer. After determining the finalists in each category, the editors of Glass Magazine will open voting up to the industry on GlassMagazine.com. Winners will be determined by popular vote.“No one knows the glass industry better than our readers, and we’re looking forward to their participation in this new awards program,” Chase says.In addition to the new categories, the Glass Magazine Awards will continue to include the project, product and website categories that participants in the Crystal Achievement Awards program have come to expect. These categories will continue to be judged by a panel of industry experts.
