China Glass 2012 Completed Successfully in Shanghai

Organized by the Chinese Ceramic Society, co-organized by Shanghai Ceramic Society and run by the Beijing Zhonggui Exhibition Co., Ltd., the 23rd China International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition (China Glass 2012) was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on April 2-5, 2012. The China Glass exhibition has been supported by nationwide trade associations in China, including China Building Materials Federation, China National Light Industry Council, China Association for Science and Technology, Chinese Architectural and Industrial Glass Association and China National Association for Glass Industry, and meanwhile the exhibition has obtained energetic assistance and support from GIMAV, Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of German, VDMA and Dame Associates Inc.The year 2012 is a crucial year serving as a connecting link for implementing the Twelfth Five-Year Plan. It is the new requirement of the Government to the whole glass industry of China to strive to adjust and optimize structures, concentrate efforts to develop intensively processed and high-end products and speed up transform and upgrade of the glass industry based on technical innovation, energy conservation and emission reduction. China Glass, as a vane of the development of Chinese glass industry, is held at this moment, and thus has drawn great attention of worldwide glass communities. The scale of this event reaches a new high with an exhibition area up to 80,500 square meters. It attracts 850 exhibitors, including 249 international companies, coming from 28 countries: China, Germany, Italy, the US, Belgium, the UK, France, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Czech, Austria, Australia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Canada, Russia, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey, Viet Nam, Egypt, Iran, Jordan and Costa Rica. As usual, Italy, Germany and the United States organized their state exhibitors groups to attend the show.Numerous world-famous glass-related enterprises came over to demonstrate their new products, equipment and technologies. Significant achievements developed during the “Twelfth Five Year Plan” period will be the highlights of this show, including key manufacturing technologies and equipment of photovoltaic and photothermal glass and coated glass, solar energy-building integration glass, glass substrates for displays, low-E and multifunctional composite coated energy-saving glass, as well as oxy-fuel firing technology, desulphurization and denitration of glass furnaces and utilization of waste heat.With the rise of the influence of China Glass, more and more companies from neighboring fields to the glass industry came to the show, such as petrochemical, films and screen printing industries. The number of companies of refractory, grinding tools and abrasives, hardware fittings was also increased evidently.The event of this year just coincided with Chinese public holydays, but the grand occasion was beyond expectations. During the 4-day exhibition, the exhibition received about 30,000 professionals from over 80 countries with 3000 foreign visitors. Of them, 550 were from India including 60 with the India Bulletin group, about 300 from Korea, 40 from the Viet Nam Glass Association, 40 from two Turkey visiting groups. Traders from Russia visited the China Glass show with the same enthusiasm as before. Some media groups such as Korean News Glass and China Building Materials Daily communicated with the organizer in order to release more detailed reports on this event.Simultaneously with the exhibition, a number of technical seminars are arranged, at which many interesting topics aroused lively discussions, focusing specially on oxy-fuel firing technology, low-emission furnaces, robot application in glass industry, application and development of glass in photoelectric displays, glass testing technology. Besides, Glaston and Chinese Academy of Building Materials organized GPD China 2011, Germany Siemens held the Siemens Glass Industry Day. The Chinese Materials Group arranged the Night of Chinese Building Materials.
