Corning Announces Coresix as Value-Added Reseller of Corning? Willow? Glass

Corning introduced Coresix Precision Glass Inc. as a value-added reseller for Corning® Willow™ Glass.Coresix, located in Williamsburg, Va., will distribute the ultra-slim flexible glass to the precise specifications of customers in a variety of industries. Inventory is in place at Coresix with initial orders for Willow Glass expected to focus on barrier applications, such as photovoltaic modules. As a distribution channel, Coresix has an extensive group of customers spanning a variety of industries, presenting new opportunities for Corning. The properties and attributes of Willow Glass make it an ideal thin and flexible hermetic barrier, helping to protect sensitive components from damaging moisture and oxygen while also acting as a structural barrier for a number of applications. In collaboration with Coresix, Corning will be able to broaden applications for Willow Glass and enable hermetically sealed photovoltaic modules and other future applications.Willow Glass is a chemically inert, thermally stable, and optically pure glass manufactured at thicknesses that create unique properties, most notably the ability of the glass to be flexed.
