PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) has published a new brochure introducing the PPG Residential IG Service Center in Carlisle, Pa., which makes double- and triple-glazed insulating glass (IG) units for residential window and patio door manufacturers.
The six-page booklet highlights the center’s unique capabilities as the site of the first Automated Tri-Lite Assembly System (ATLAS) production line in the U.S. Developed by GED Integrated Solutions, Twinsburg, Ohio, the ATLAS production line enables window manufacturers to produce triple-pane IG units faster and more affordably than is possible with existing technologies and without reconfiguring existing production lines. The ATLAS line also enhances quality control as a result of high levels of automation.
The new brochure details the complete range of advanced low-emissivity (low-e) and solar control, low-e glasses available from PPG, including SUNGATE(R) 500, Sungate 400 and Sungate 600 glasses and SOLARBAN(R) 60, Solarban 67 and Solarban 70XL glasses. The center makes IG units with INTERCEPT(R) and Intercept ULTRA spacer systems for added insulating strength, durability and enhanced sight lines, and with SUNCLEAN(R) self-cleaning glass for easy care.
As a full-service fabrication facility, the PPG Residential IG Service Center helps window and patio door manufacturers supplement their production capabilities, reduce inventory expenses, maximize manufacturing space, cut shipping costs and simplify manufacturing requirements. The facility makes IG units and patio doors in stock sizes for quick shipment and in special shapes and sizes for large- and small-volume production.
