AGC Glass Company North America, a leading manufacturer of glass and glass-related products, announces the company has officially restarted the G1 float glass line located at its Greenland manufacturing plant in Hawkins County, Tennessee. An official ceremony was conducted January 15, 2013 at the facility that included company, local and state officials.

The G1 line will serve both architectural and automotive markets; producing both high quality clear and tinted float glass. The G1 line will operate continually for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  A continuous glass ribbon coming from the line each day will stretch over 13 miles (22 km) long.
