Apogee Enterprises has announced that it plans to invest more than $30 million in the manufacturing process of its architectural glass subsidiary, Viracon. The project is expected to take the next 18 months and aims to “improve efficiencies and allow Viracon to offer the new products required to strengthen its competitive position.”
Company officials currently are comparing the cost and benefits of making the investment at either the company’s location in Owatonna, Minn., or Statesboro, Ga.
Apogee officials declined to comment further on the investment.
