Lakesmere secures prestigious University of Southampton contract

Lakesmere is hoping to graduate with honours when its design and installation skills are put to the test in the creation of the University of Southampton’s new Engineering Centre of Excellence.     

Located at the University’s Boldrewood campus, the new facility will create a new professional environment for research and studies jointly occupied by the University and independent risk management organisation Lloyd’s Register.

Lakesmere has been appointed by Wates Construction to design and install a £1.5m envelope package consisting of Kalzip roof, Kalzip FC aluminium cladding, louvre cladding and Schüco glazing.

The new appointment will also reunite Lakesmere with Grimshaw Architects with whom the specialist contractor has worked on a number of transport projects including
