Post Time:Sep 11,2013Classify:Industry NewsView:135

The Austrian Research Promotion Agency is providing support for a three-year development project conducted by Plansee.

The aim: In collaboration with the University of Leoben and the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, we are developing new thin film materials for flat displays, touch panels, electrochromic glass and microelectronics applications.

"The project shows our customers that they can continue to rely on Plansee in future as an expert development partner for thin film materials manufactured using powder metallurgical techniques," explains Ulrich Lausecker who is responsible for the thin film material business at Plansee.

The most important research and development investments: Setup of a PVD test plant for coating using rotary sputtering targets; award of various masters-level and doctoral research assignments; installation of a system to measure the semiconductor properties of molybdenum oxides (Hall effect measurement system).
