Bradenton, Fla.-based Key Glass recently was selected as the contract glazier for a new two-story, 460,000-square-foot outer shell for The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, Fla. The company also will provide glazing for the 160,000-square-foot Macy’s department store and the 180,000-square-foot Dillard’s department store.
The mall’s main entrance will be a four-sided glass wall and will also contain an elevator observation tower. The company will begin work on the project this fall, and the shopping center is expected to open in October 2014.
“This is an exciting project. It is very rewarding to be recognized as a highly capable local subcontractor with an opportunity to excel,” says Greg Burkhart, president of Key Glass.
