PGT to build additional plant and hire 50 to 60

During the 2000s, PGT expanded its business into North Carolina, but then shuttered its operations there during the Great Recession and consolidated production in Venice in 2011.    

Now, however, PGT wants to have the flexibility to expand without moving operations.

"Assuming the housing industry continues to add jobs to the economy, which we think it will, we think it is wise to have room to grow," Jackson said.
