ICD High Performance Coatings Develops CeramiGlass™ Obscuration Band Coating For Auto Glass, Making Surface Two Screen Printing Easy.
ICD High Performance Coatings is very excited to announce the commercialization of a much-needed product for the auto glass industry. A myriad of issues arise when using ceramic enamel as a screen print coating for obscuration bands in both front and side auto windows. ICD has answered this concern with its new CeramiGlass™ screen print coating. While CeramiGlass™ performs equally to ceramic enamel in every way, the coating’s dual cure (low temperature and tempering temperature) nature now offers auto windshield manufacturers the ability to print and lightly cure, which eliminates many unwanted issues in the bending/laminating process.
“This is a very exciting project for us; one we have been working on for quite some time. CeramiGlass™ produces zero volatile organic compounds to contend with, provides equal performance to frit and, due to its green strength, removes all issues with screen printing,” states Kris Vockler, ICD CEO.
As more low-e and high performance coatings are applied on the inside of laminated vehicle products, problems with the printing and bending processes have historically been a snag to the industry movement. “That all changes with CeramiGlass™,” says Kris Vockler.
