Registration is open for the American Architectural Manufacturers Association's Summer Conference, to be held in Rosemont, Ill., June 9-12. Highlighting the event will be a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of AAMA's Gold Label certification program.
During the Tuesday luncheon, Educational and Technical Information Manager Dean Lewis, who has managed AAMA’s certification program for more than 13 years, will discuss its history and development, and share some of his experiences with customers and licensees.
The keynote speaker for the summer meeting will be Stephen Gold, president and CEO of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation. A contributing columnist for IndustryWeek and a member of the board of trustees of The Manufacturing Institute, he will focus on the U.S. manufacturing outlook, addressing such issues as the manufacturing resurgence, the outlook for next year and obstacles to further recovery.
Also on the agenda is Graham Wright, a certified consultant with the Passive House Institute U.S. and the principal of Wright On Sustainability. He will discuss the new certified data program for window performance in passive home construction. Another guest speaker, Tom Gloria of Industrial Ecology Consultants, will address product category rules used in life cycle assessments.
Recipients of the 2013 AAMA Scholarship and Partner Program awards will also be announced at the Illinois meeting. The AAMA program offers a one-time award of $2,000 to the children of member company employees who pursue an engineering or technical degree.
