Allied Glass Containers has recently been awarded gold at the 2012 Edrington Group Packaging Supplier of the Year Awards, which were held at Hopetoun House, Edinburgh.
Edrington's supplier awards are in their sixth consecutive year and twenty one of its top packaging suppliers were entered into this year's competition, Allied Glass being placed fourth overall. Following the awards, Mike Rose the Edrington Group's Technical Director commented:
“Here at Edrington, we are firmly committed to running our supplier appraisal process as it reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. Suppliers understand better what we need from them, it encourages cooperation and partnership, and it has contributed to a strong and steady improvement in performance every single year. Our annual awards event is a great opportubnity for us to celebrate successful supplier-customer collaborations."
Founded in 1861, Edrington produces many of the world’s best-known single malt and blended Scotch whisky brands. These include The Macallan and The Famous Grouse, with a turnover of £556 million and employing over 2,300 staff at its Glasgow headquarters, distilleries and overseas locations. Richard Summers, Allied’s Operations Director, says:
