GANA Releases Optical Distortion GIB

Post Time:Apr 29,2013Classify:Industry NewsView:134

The Glass Association of North America (GANA) has released a new Glass Informational Bulletin (GIB) titled “Method of Measuring Optical Distortion in Heat-Treated Flat Architectural Glass.” The GIB was created by GANA’s Tempering Division Distortion Task Group to provide information regarding what optical distortion is, and the methods currently available to measure that type of distortion.

“On behalf of the Tempering Division Distortion Task Group, it is our pleasure to roll out this new GIB. It gives a brief explanation of some of the existing equipment available and its capabilities and limitations for measuring distortions in heat-treated flat architectural glass,” says task group chair Chuck Wencl of Viracon Inc. “We hope this GIB will help those who are considering purchasing new or upgrading distortion measuring equipment for the heat-treated flat glass industry.”

The GIB is available for download at no charge to GANA members on the members-only portion of the association’s website and to others in the GANA store for $5 per GIB.
