Through reviewing the market situation since the last forum held in Heyuan, it is estimated that the price of glass sheet would be slightly higher after the session. However, the market appears to have a certain degree of decline since the late August. At present, the price of top quality glass sheet is 76-77 yuan /box, and 71-72 yuan /box for low- to medium-end glass sheet, which is significantly lower than normal price. Something has to be done to change the situation.

After a careful analysis of the present situation of the glass industry of South China, it may be confirmed that demand for float glass would recover in the coming three months with the coming of the traditional peak season “Golden September and Silver October”.

Through in-depth discussion on how to maintain stability in the market of South China, they reached a consensus that a rational view shall be held regarding the increase of inventory. Manufacturers shall properly maintain inventory, be confident about the market and jointly maintain the market of South China.
