Zurich, 16 July 2012 – Ferdi Töngi, Head of the Sheet Metal Processing Systems business unit (Bystronic) and a member of the Group Executive Board, has decided to leave the Group with effect from the end of March 2013 after 12 years of service in leading management roles. The search for his successor has begun.
Ferdi Töngi joined the Conzzeta Group in 2000 as Head of Machinery and Systems Engineering. In view of the different client structures, the business was later split into two units: Sheet Metal Processing Systems (Bystronic) and Glass Processing Systems (Bystronic glass). As CEO of Bystronic, Mr. Töngi was responsible for the systematic development of the company that transformed it into an international player. Under his leadership, additional production sites were acquired and developed in Germany and China, and an efficient sales and service organization was built up. A second production center is due to start operations in China in autumn 2012.
The Board of Directors and the Group Executive Board would like to express their thanks to Ferdi Töngi for his successful leadership and his contribution to the development of Bystronic over the last 12 years and wish him all the best for the future.
