Q I have a 44mm thick 30 minute fire door and I am considering using a concealed indoor closer. I am concerned that the closer body shadow will show through the light coloured veneer on such a thin door. Can I fit a concealed closer into the frame rather than the door leaf?

A Yes, it is mechanically possible to install the closer body into the frame with the guide rail arm into the door leaf. However, specific fire test evidence is required to cover this application. The GEZE BOXER series has undergone independent testing in this exact application.
