Asahi Glass Co. glass sales up slightly, despite overall sales decline in Q3

Asahi Glass Co. released its third quarter financial results on Nov. 4. Sales in the quarter were down 5.3 percent compared to third quarter 2010, and operating income was down 32.5 percent year-over-year, according to the report. In the glass segment, sales were up 4 percent, and operating income was down 66.2 percent. The company will end the year with sales 3 percent below 2010, according to the 2011 full-year forecast.
