The Glass Machinery Company has recently completed the installation of a new Lamir Jet Microglass lamination oven at Wyndham Plastics and Glass in Wales. The installation at the Bridgend facilities will enable Wyndham to grow and develop into new markets, bringing customers a broader product range.
The Energy saving powered systems of inferior and superior radiation or RWM modulation were considered major benefits by the management team at the company. Wyndham Plastics and Glass is committed to expanding the product range with a view to incentivizing the market. The company which was launched over 20 years ago originally as Pen-ybont Glass, has an extensive fully automated facility that incorporates state-of-the-art-equipment and is recognized for its quality production standards. Since the installation of the Microglass system by The Glass Machinery Company the site now runs more efficiently, which has enabled the company to further improve services for customers with faster delivery times from its national fleet and more cost competitive pricing for existing and potential customers. The patented RWM technology ensures that the maximum power absorbed by the electrical system is always halved in relation to the power generally installed. Additionally, the insulation system is composed of special panels comprised of a sandwich of calcium silicate and natural fiber, which guarantees minimum levels of thermal dispersion, keeping the energy yield of the machine very high and production costs lower.
EVA lamination ovens which are used with EVA films are available in various sizes and depending on production requirements, generally run on a cycle time of around one and a half hours. Additionally the top of the Lamir Jet can also be used during the manufacturing process as a workable area to prepare products for the next production run. Steve Clarke, Managing Director at Wyndham Plastics and Glass comments, “We are now in complete control of our manufacturing methods which greatly benefits this company and its customers. Having total charge across all sectors of production ensures we can provide a faster, more reliable service than ever before. Product quality is of paramount importance so it was imperative, when making substantial investment in machinery that we could rely upon the machinery as well as the advice given.
Having visited Italy to view the Microglass range, we quickly saw that the company’s products and ethics would match our needs perfectly. He concludes, “Ensuring through product diversification that we can support our customers regarding quality and guarantees can only be done through trust. We have developed a strong working relationship with Phil at The Glass Machinery Company which we rely upon – we know he understands the market and accommodates our needs accordingly. The Service support has been exceptional.” Phil Birchall, Managing Director, The Glass Machinery Company states, “The infrared patented technology developed by Microglass provides convincing results for glass processors as it is more cost effective using a lot less power and floorspace than other alternative systems, meaning that it is also better for the environment. It is very rewarding to see that our products, efforts and experience are being recognized.”
